Einstein Medical offers a range of Internet products to assist health care providers maximize their website to help reduce cost, provide greater patient satisfaction, and ensure patient privacy.
The Privacy Notice and Disclosure Module is designed to lower your risk of civil litigation from trial lawyers. This Internet module adds practice and patient privacy notices* to the practice website so that it adheres to federal and state HIPAA guidelines. The patient privacy notice is also incorporated into the website’s contact forms. In order to submit information through the contact form, patients first must sign the patient privacy notice via electronic signature. The information is then sent to the practice in an email. To ensure proper documentation, a monthly report showing the number of patients who activated and declined the electronic signature is included with this module. Security disclaimers are also added to all website contact forms.
The Privacy Notice and Disclosure Module requires that your website be hosted on Einstein’s servers.
Cost: $1,500 per domain
This package adds the practice and patient privacy notices* to the practice website, integrates the patient privacy notice into website contact forms, and provides links to the HIPAA Education Information described above in the Privacy Notice and Disclosure Module section. All website contact forms on one domain are then configured to send user input to a Secure VAB Mail account. This method provides complete security because it takes place on Einstein’s secure network – it is much safer than sending patient information to the practice via non-secure email.
Secure VAB Mail is a complete patient communication and data management tool. It provides a solution to the issues and challenges raised by the new HIPAA guidelines that govern electronic communication between patients and health care providers. This software allows your practice to consult with patients in full compliance with HIPAA’s communication guidelines.
Secure VAB Mail allows account holders to provide a Secure VAB Mail email account to each of their patients. This ensures privacy and gives patients a secure, spam-free communication conduit, courtesy of their doctor. The doctor and patient can then engage in secure, direct communication within the Secure VAB Mail network.
Cost:
First year - $2,000
Subsequent years - $1,500
Additional Customized Forms - $500 each
In addition to the functions described above, Secure VAB Mail can be used as a standalone secure email program with no connection to your practice website.
This module includes a Secure VAB Mail account with unlimited, unrestricted usage options
Cost:
First year - $1,500
Subsequent years - $1,500
This module includes programming for the Privacy and Disclosure Module on websites with 10 or fewer pages. For websites with more than 10 pages, an additional fee of $50 per page will apply for the first year. For example, a 15-page website will cost $1750 ($1500 initial fee, plus $50 for each of the extra 5 pages). The module cost for the second year is a flat fee of $600. This second year cost applies to all websites, regardless of the number of pages.
Cost: $1,500
The fees described above apply to websites that have specific design and construction parameters. In some cases websites require additional programming in order to properly install the Privacy and Disclosure Module and/or the Patient Security Module. Websites not designed by Einstein Medical must be evaluated before final costs can be determined. These costs can range from an additional $50 per page to $150 per page, depending on the complexity and design structure of the website. For example, websites constructed using elementary design tools such as MicroSoft Front Page or MacroMedia Home Site typically require additional work, and therefore added costs. Websites that are built using dynamic programming, such as ASP or PHP, will require additional downtime to install modules.
Additionally, the Einstein HIPAA team must have access to the Photoshop design layers in order to efficiently install the modules. Those websites for which Photoshop files are not made available may require additional programming in order to reconstruct the layers as the modules are installed. (For websites designed by Einstein Medical, the Photoshop files are stored for easy access by the Einstein team. In this case, the Einstein Information Technology Department bears the responsibility for making these files available to the design team.)
